During the third quarter of 2024, the performance of top communication apps in Finland on the Android platform exhibited notable trends in downloads, revenue, and active user engagement. Here's a closer look at these apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a consistent level of user engagement, with weekly active users fluctuating around 2.8M. Downloads varied throughout the quarter, peaking at 3.2K in early August before gradually declining to 1.6K by the end of September.

Telegram showed a steady increase in weekly revenue, reaching approximately $3.3K by the end of September. Downloads decreased over the quarter, starting at 2.5K and tapering to 1.5K. Weekly active users, however, remained on an upward trajectory, ending the quarter at nearly 230K.

Messenger saw a decline in weekly downloads from 2.5K to 1.6K. The number of active users also experienced a slight decrease, ending the quarter at approximately 345K.

Snapchat experienced fluctuations in revenue, culminating in a peak of $7.4K in late September. Its downloads decreased from 2K to around 1.4K, while active users remained relatively stable, closing the quarter at around 419K.

Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out saw an increase in revenue, peaking at nearly $4.9K at the end of the quarter. Downloads were on a downward trend, starting at 1.6K and ending at 1.2K. Active users, however, grew steadily, reaching approximately 354K by the end of September.
